Acidity (Low pH)

Symptoms may include;

  • Blue or Green staining
  • Plumbing leaks
  • Metallic taste
  • Dry Skin

Iron

Symptoms may include;

  • Orange or Brown staining
  • Discolored water
  • Frequently clogged appliances
  • Metallic/Earthy taste or odor

Hardness

Symptoms may include;

  • White or Gray spots/deposits
  • Poor soap suds
  • Sticky or Grippy feeling after washing
  • Appliance inefficiency

High TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)

Symptoms may include;

  • Blue or Green staining
  • Salty taste or odor

Water testing

Nitrates

Nitrates do NOT have a taste, color, or odor. The only way to tell if it is present is through testing. High levels of nitrates are more common in rural areas due to fertilization run-off and livestock. High nitrate levels can affect anyone, but infants and pregnant women are more at risk. Nitrate exposure in drinking water can increase your risk of certain cancers, birth defects, and blue baby syndrome.
